How big and heavy is a humanoid robot?
Humanoid robots in 2026 stand between about 1.2 and 1.9 metres and weigh between 30 and 90 kg. The Unitree G1, the most common one in private hands, is 1.32 m and about 35 kg, small enough to fit in a car boot and be lifted by two people. Home robots are built light on purpose: the 1X NEO is 1.68 m and about 30 kg. Industrial machines are full adult size or bigger: Apptronik Apollo is 1.73 m and about 73 kg, Boston Dynamics' production Atlas is 1.9 m and 90 kg. Size decides where a robot fits, who can move it and how it ships.

How tall and heavy are the main humanoid robots?

Two things stand out. Robots meant for homes weigh less than robots meant for factories at the same height, because a 30 kg machine that falls is a very different event from a 90 kg one. And there is no shared size standard: every maker picks its own proportions, so a robot's height tells you nothing about its shoulder width, reach or footprint until you check the drawing.
Will a humanoid robot fit in a house?
A G1-class robot fits anywhere a ten-year-old fits. A NEO-class robot is the size of a small adult and needs the same clearances: a standard 80 cm doorway is fine, a narrow hallway with furniture is not. The questions that matter more than height:
- Floor. Walking robots want flat, dry, non-slip floors. Thick rugs, cables and pet bowls are trip hazards for a machine with two feet.
- Turning space. A bipedal robot turns in place but needs about a metre of clear floor to recover a balance step safely.
- Charging spot. A place to sit or stand it, near a socket, out of the walkway.
- Stairs. Walking models can handle steps; wheeled ones such as Isaac 1 cannot, which is why Weave built it for single-floor homes.

Will a humanoid robot fit in a car?
A G1 folds at the hips and knees into a crate that fits a hatchback or SUV boot; two people lift it. A NEO at 30 kg is carried by one strong adult but is longer when folded. Anything above 60 kg is a two-person lift with a case on wheels and usually goes in a van. How does size affect what a humanoid robot can do?
Directly. Reach follows height: a 1.32 m robot cannot take a glass from a standard 90 cm counter without leaning, and cannot reach a top shelf at all. Payload roughly follows weight: the 35 kg G1 lifts about 2 kg per arm; the 73 kg Apollo lifts about 25 kg; the 90 kg Atlas is rated at 30 kg sustained and 50 kg instantaneous. Runtime follows weight the other way, because a heavier body spends more battery standing still. We measured the published dimensions of the eight robots in the table against a standard 80 cm doorway and a 90 cm kitchen counter: every one of them passes the door, and only the robots above 1.6 m reach the counter comfortably. That is a useful filter for a home buyer before anything else on the spec sheet.
How do humanoid robots ship?
In a wooden or foam crate, by air freight or sea, with the battery often shipped separately under lithium rules. A G1 from Unitree's store costs $300 to $1,200 to ship to a US address. Larger robots ship on pallets and need a forklift at the receiving end.
